Our internal systems & operations service line focuses on helping senior organizational leaders to adopt internal structures & policies, and promote behaviours, which enhance gender equity and inclusion.

We believe that organisations are complex entities which are shaped by the interactions between multiple individuals, institutionalized social norms, and formal structures.

Our approach captures these interactions by applying the Matriarch Framework, which considers how regulative, normative and cognitive institutions interact and affect gender outcomes within organisations.

WHAT WE OFFER

Programmes & Impact Delivery

  • Strategic design support: Structuring, framing and sequencing gender-related initiatives to be coherent, actionable, and aligned with broader institutional goals (e.g. ESG and CSR commitments.

  • Conceptualising change: Designing the logical models, including organisation’s Theory of Change (ToC), results framework, and indicators lists while informing organizational strategies.

  • Monitoring, evaluation, assessment and learning (MEAL) advisory: Designing and delivering data collection tools for MEAL activities based on the logical models and frameworks developed. This gender-integrated MEAL system is tailored to organisations, or specific programmes, projects, or campaigns.

  • Impact reporting: Development of knowledge products for communicating project and programme results to internal and external stakeholders.

Change is non-linear and complex. Our approach to conceptualising change stems from the Matriarch Framework that considers how factors on a systemic and individual level can create and affect change. We believe that MEAL systems and approaches should challenge existing power structures, enable us to learn from past experiences, and challenge underlying assumptions while asking the question ‘why’ changes have occurred.

Our impact reporting services can translate these results into clear, credible narratives that reflect both accountability and complexity, meeting stakeholder expectations and honouring the nuance and importance of the work.

Narrative, Strategy & Advocacy

  • Positioning and narrative strategy: Helping organisations build, curate, and sustain equity narratives that are credible, accountable, and clear.

  • Stakeholder mapping and gender-sensitive stakeholder engagement: Identifying and working meaningfully with diverse, multi-stakeholder, vulnerable and/or impacted populations.

How an organisation communicates its values, commitments and offerings — and who it includes in the conversation — shapes its credibility and impact. We support teams in developing narratives and strategies that are honest, strategic and aligned. Through stakeholder engagement, we can ensure organisations reflect real-world power dynamics, centre marginalised voices and are inclusive from start to finish.

Together, these approaches build trust and ensure both messages and methods support meaningful change, and are contextualised, consistent and structurally aware.

We're guided by four core principles
across our service offerings

Meaningfully including a variety of perspectives and voices is essential to our work.

Participatory

We design with an understanding of systemic inequality. This means accounting for positionality, power and the ways in which institutions uphold or disrupt unjust norms,

Systemic

We believe that those closest to an issue are best positioned to define what success and impact looks like.

Localised

We aim to reflect institutional capacity, sectoral pressures, and lived realities, avoiding one-size-fits-all or blueprinted solution.

Contextualised
